My Christmas Prayer

Dear God-

I know you’ve heard me say this before. But I really, really want a baby. You know I have that personal deadline of “be a mom for the first time before I’m 40.” Well my 39th birthday is like 40 days away so you know I’m really cutting it close here. While I respect the fact that you are not obligated to perform on my schedule, I might remind you of a certain promise you made a while back which you've kept so far. I'm just saying my foot is now tapping with "are we there yet" impatience.

Now according my fertility calendar I’m due to ovulate on your son’s birthday (give or take). So Michael and I will be “exchanging gifts” so to speak from now until then (and maybe on through the New Year just for good measure). In other words we’re doing our part. Do it to death practically… thank you for making the process so much fun, by the way. But you know all that “miracle of life” stuff is still open for you to step and in and “put a bow on it” as it were.

What I’m saying is: Make me a mommy for Christmas. Please.

Thank you. Amen.
-Girl

*Any of you prayerful folk who may be so inclined, please add an Amen. Think of it as a Pregnancy Petition To the Big "G" For GWAA.

That was by far the cutest and sweetest prayer I've ever read. You are prescious, girl. I just posted about how I want to pray more, so I will absolutely pray that God makes you a mommy for Christmas. Good luck!

"Exchanging gifts." I love that. You can count on my prayers, dear.

CBT- that's just one of the ways we say it "getting swimmers in the pool" is another.

Thanks Sara! Glad you're back.

April- Welcome! and thanks I'll say a prayer for you too. :)

Best of luck and warmest holiday wishes.

Just a sneaking suspicion, but I think you'd be a great mom!

Enjoy the "gift" exchange with your husband and make sure it doesn't turn into a lab experiment. Once my wife and I realized that, our daughter graced our presence.

Thanks John! And good advice. I have to watch that, I get very anal about things sometimes. :D

I wish you the best of luck in this - honestly. And if by some strange occurrence you need additional "seed", well then I'm only a day away *wink*. Merry Christmas, Happy "rhymes w/ harmonica (cant spell) Happy Kwanzaa, Festivus for the Rest Of Us, whatever the case my be. You're quite the lovely lady and you deserve the best....

I don't know if you are aware of this but Saint Nicholas is the patron saint of children. Being catholic, we rely on saints to put in a good word with God for us. I will pray to St Nick that your dream comes true.

SOB- I'll let my husband know you're willing to back him up. I'm sure he'll appreciate the offer. Who says the Christmas Spirit is dead? (You'll have to get Aughra's number on your own, though)

Christine- Cool! I totally forgot about that. "Dear St. Nick..." I feel like it's a "Dear Santa" letter. :)

I certainly hope all went as prayed for! In a world as crazy as ours, it is sometimes difficult to find and recognize a stable couple who would be doing ALL of the rest of us a favor by gifting our species with the next generation.

You two seem like one of those rare couples, who the rest of us NEED to help build our collective future.

May your new year be most fortuitous and may your lives become beautifully complicated, for the sake of us all.

WHOO HOO!
